[atrb=border, 0, true][atrb=style, line-height:80%;][atrb=style, width:279px; padding:10px; background:#ffffff;] GIRLS DO WHAT THEY WANT, BOYS DO WHAT THEY CAN noah had taken the usual precaution when it came to painting, he had opened windows, he had turned on fans, he had moved and covered furniture (what little amount her currently had in his temporary home), had covered the floor, and taped off door frames and window frames. he had all of the proper materials. paint, paint brushes, rollers, trays, extenders, drinks; capri sun packs, bottles of water, and beer that he was certainly not giving to his assistant that day.
he had met kat at a concert not very long ago. well, technically, not exactly a concert. noah and his bandmates (his brothers from the fraternity they were in back in college; the experience which inspired the band name hell week) enjoyed throwing little barbeque parties in the parking lot near the tour buses after every concert where they didn't have to pack and run. he had met kat at one of those. she was young, which made him feel like a creep for spending so much time talking to her and actually getting her e-mail address. there was just something about her that he enjoyed. she gave him that feeling, the kind where you wanna protect them. he wasn't a big brother, but he was assuming this is how a big brother would treat their baby sister.
he wasn't even sure if her parents knew they were friends. he was sure they probably wouldn't like her coming around to his apartment by herself.. he was reconsidering, maybe he should have just picked her up, stopped and introduced himself. he was a gentleman, he acted like one, but he tended to turn parents off with just a glance. maybe this was the only way to hang out with kat. noah shrugged and looked around his plastic covered living room, waiting for a knock on his door.

[atrb=border, 0, true][atrb=style, line-height:80%;][atrb=style, width:279px; padding:10px; background:#ffffff;] GIRLS DO WHAT THEY WANT, BOYS DO WHAT THEY CAN having been feeling so impatient, staring at his front door in anticipation, he actually released a loud gaaah, that sounded something like something chewbacca and slaw from the goonies would make. he was sure it looked just as unattractive as it sounded. he began to laugh at himself, as he raced across the plastic covered floor. he tried to clear his face before opening it, but he felt like he looked just as ridiculous once he'd pulled the door open to greet his friend.
hey kat, he laughed. sorry, i'm being weird today. fair warning. he moved to let her walk through the doorway. probably just excitement, could be the ADHD, i'm not sure, he was practically bouncing and on the verge of giggling.
kat was a good friend, but noah wasn't sure if she'd ever seen him this hyped. considering they met after a show, she may have seen him excited but to exhausted to... well, bounce. i picked this bluish color, he stated. they were here to paint, but it still seemed like an off-the-wall thing to say. definitely adhd, he decided, nodding his head. he only took medication for it when he was recording, touring, and when he was back at school. on days when he really didn't have to do anything, he figured why bother.

"well yeah, i can see that." she raised her eyebrows and laughed as he warned her that he was just being weird. however, it made her happy to be surrounded by someone as cheerful as noah. it felt like there was actually happiness in the room. "mm, not bad." she looked around and observed his work. although it wasn't a hundred percent done, she could tell that the result would be good. when he confirmed that it was the adhd making him all hyper, excited and bouncy, she nodded and smiled. "alright, alright. should we get to work now?" she suggested. she threw her bag on one side of the room and looked at all the newspaper and paints around the house. "what can i help you with?" she asked finally, wondering what she could help with. his place was a little messy with all the things everywhere, but she knew it was part of the process. she remembered when she first painted her room, everything was in a mess and her mom had to scream at her to tidy it up, but looking at the result today, she was satisfied with what she had come up with and the end result of her room.
