bay had always been a fan of food. of studying it, of growing it, of picking it, of cooking it, and especially of eating it. when she was at that point in her life when everyone must decide which direction they are headed, bay decided to go with food. it was a passion, after all. she studied through an apprenticeship for three years, two in high school, and one in culinary school. she received degrees in the culinary arts and hospitality management and even studied wine making for a year. she knew where she was headed and she had made it, a lot sooner than anyone expected.
here she was, only twenty four, and the proud owner of a bay leaves restaurant. she was restauranter, she was successful, she loved her work and her customers and even the money it all brought in. she spent her days and part of every night in the building she had delicately decorated and kept clean and up to code. it was her baby.
so, you can see why it was an absolute shock to her siu chef when bay told him he would be taking over lunch that day, while she attended a lunch in the dining room. bay was a hard worker and she decided she needed a couple hours of down time. girl time. so she slid into a - like everything bay owned - casually sexy dress and chic shoes and waited for her friend in the back corner of the main dining room. she looked at the clock on her phone and then to the door, just in time to see elizabeth slip through.
bay grinned and waved her over, politely standing to greet her, and offering her a friendly hug. hey! how have you been?

Bay had invited her to lunch. It felt like years since she hung out with Bay so she quickly agreed to meet. Liz walked into her son's room and got his stuff ready to go to the babysitter's house. Before she knew it she didn't have long to get to the restaurant. She slipped on a quick dress and heels before grabbing her purse, the diapper bag, and her son.
Elizabeth had just dropped her son off at the babysitters and rushed into the restaurant. Her little powder blue dress clung to her little frame. A smile formed on her face as she noticed Bay stand to great her. "Hey girl. Stressing but you know that's normal for me." She said with a laugh. What with planning the wedding and dealing with Xavian and work and being a good house wife life was pretty stressful for her. Liz sat down and looked over the menu for a moment trying to decide which she wanted that day. "Okay miss owner what should we have today?" Liz trusted Bay's food decisions.

bay was almost constantly impressed with her accomplishments. twenty four years old, working eighty hour weeks, owning her own restaurant and home, she had accomplished every schooling and activity she had participated in, she even accomplished the act of falling in love. she prayed that one day she'd end up on a path that lead to life similar to elizabeth's.
she admired her friends accomplishments, as well. a young mother to a beautiful baby boy, marrying an attractive man. happy. planning to be happy permanently. forever. it was definitely something to be jealous of, but bay wasn't the jealous type. she could find envy in the lives of others, without feeling an ounce of spite.
bay rolled her eyes as if to say well, duh, obviously you're stressing and grinned, sitting down across from her. don't worry about it, i have to be here anyway, at least this way i got to put up the apron and have a seat and a drink, she smiled and took a sip from her glass of white wine. thanks for giving me an excuse to do that, she raised her glass some, and pointed it in her direction, as a sort of cheers. hon, it's my restaurant, i recommend anything and everything off this menu, she pointed to the leather bound booklet, full of meals she had hand picked and originally hand prepared.
so how are things? the wedding? the baby? the boy toy?

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: f9f9f9; border: #d96a70 solid 10px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;]cos baby you're a firework In all the years Liz knew Bay she knew that her friend was damn near a perfectionest; this was a good thing sometimes but other times it made Liz a little hesitent because she didn't know if she was going to mess something up or make it look like crap compared to Bay's work. Yeah Liz could cook but it wasn't anything like what Bay could do. Bay could turn baked beans into something Liz's son would eat. She didn't know how Bay did it but she was like a kitchen goddess.
Xavian loved his Aunt Bay. When she would come see him his eyes would just light up hearing her voice. Liz was glad he was so open to Bay. She had joked with her friend about joining the mother club quiet a bit. Liz knew she would make a great mom she just had to want it herself.
Elizabeth sat down and almost as soon as she opened the menu she shut it and rolled her eyes. "Miss cocky...you aren't cooking so how do we know they fix it as good as you do?" She said cocking her head to the side. Hearing Bay go on a twenty question roll Liz laughed and took a sip of the other glass of white wine that was waiting for her. "Wedding's coming along good. I think I got the color choices all picked out and flowers." She paused and scrunched her face before she continued. "Watch I'll change all that stuff ten times before the wedding." Liz was the worst about changing her mind. "Xavian's good he's with the babysitter right now. Growing bigger and bigger each day. Makes me feel old." She took another small sip and slowly looked up when Bay said 'boy toy'. Her eyebrows arched. "He's good. Been busy working and all. Wish we didn't have to work so hard but it's not our choice now." She said with a sigh. It sucked not having her man home every night for dinner or for family time. "How about you? Still not ready to join club mommy? What happened with you and that director dude?"

bay snorted into her wine glass and wrinkled her brows in confusion. director? where are you getting your information from? perhaps she was mentioned in some article, with obviously false statements. maybe elizabeth was simply confused when it came to bay's relationships.
bay had met a musician four years ago, and though they had both expected it to be a one night stand, the temptation was too sweet and the two ended up as friends. phone calls, texts, webcame, sexts, and he visited almost every chance he had gotten. the two had discussed being in a relationship, but never took the idea seriously. bay had done enough traveling for a lifetime, and his job would require a lot of it. and a lot of attention that bay was tired of.
bay shook her head and rested her elbow on the clean linen table cloth, and her chin in her palm. she admired elizabeth, definitely. she was beautiful, she was strong, and downright lovely. bay smiled at her friend from across the table. because i have good tastes, remember? if i say it's good, it's good. which is why should also come to me with any of these wedding details, she laughed. do you have a caterer?
